Percussionist Oliver C. Brown's first break started with TK Records as one of the original members of "KC and the Sunshine Band" where he participated in the recording of several platinum and gold records. After moving to Los Angeles, he expanded his musical horizons by recording with such artists as Nancy Wilson, Jermaine Jackson, The Whispers, Sly Stone, Cal Bennett, Dennis Wilson (The Beach Boys), Doug Macleod, Billy Preston and many other Motown and Warner Brothers recording artists. Brown has been in concert appearances with Leo Sayer, Al Jarreau, Evelyn Champaign King, Glenn Yarbrough, John Stewart, Billy Preston, The Christy Minstrels, The Mick Fleetwood Blue Whale Blues Band and Fleetwood Mac. Oliver then became the third member of a trio, GRAVITY, comprised of Clydene Jackson on keyboards & vocals, Harold Payne on acoustic guitar and vocals and himself on percussion. GRAVITY recorded & toured in support of their first recording under the Japanese company, Pony Canyon Records. The first CD reached #14 in the Japanese charts while the band was touring overseas. Currently, GRAVITY has just released their second CD entitled, "Love Comes Back" on the Affinity Records Label and it is available in Tower Records stores nationwide. Oliver Brown's driving force brings a unique energy, power and a vivid palette of sounds as he moves from chimes, bells, congas and cymbals. His pleasure in performing is contagious.
