Performing songwriter Harold Payne has over100 recordings by acts as diverse as Patti LaBelle, Rod Stewart & long time collaborator, Bobby Womack, and literally from Peter Paul & Mary to Snoop Dogg. He has played just about every imaginable venue - -from amphitheaters to community theaters, festivals to churches; from the Houses of Blues to house concerts, from corporate events to private parties. Along the way, he has developed his own style of audience interaction, which usually includes his notorious song improvisations. He has also opened for the likes of Van Morrison, Kenny Loggins, Collin Raye, Pam Tillis & Hawaiian legend "Iz" (Israel Kamakawiwo`ole).

He has performed for numerous international music events in places like India, Japan, Cuba, Indonesia and Russia and has strong musical ties to Hawaii. His live performances are soulful, heartfelt and humorous and he often creates custom material.

Mindy Weiss celebrity event planner mindyweiss.com

"It was wonderful having Harold here last week...my Leadership Loveland group loved him! It was a super hour from start to finish."
Kim Kimberly Akeley-Charron Cultural Events Coordinator City of Loveland, CO

"As a songwriter myself, I deeply appreciate Harold's ability to express profound ideas and feelings, using very simple musical and verbal phrases. The "Power of Positive Music" music Harold has created is a collection of songs which powerfully express all the positive feelings, qualities and experiences of life. Also Harold is a powerful and emotionally charged singer with charismatic presence on stage. He is so at ease with his audience that many of our congregants have said they always feel like he is singing directly to them."
John-Henri, Musical Director, Redondo Beach CRS

About the PASS IT ON recording:

"Pass it On" is a rich and sophisticated musical patina paints the sound with acoustic guitars, choral harmonies, and sparking synthesizers providing the frame for Payne's husky heartfelt vocals. In the world of Harold Payne the songs are most important elements, ("the song is king" he states simply), and the ten selections on "Pass It On" are so genuine and natural they sound as if they may have written themselves. The chance encounter, the moment that might have been, the distance between lovers, physical and emotional, and the solitary view where the city lights recede from the window of an airplane and blend into the stars over a dark ocean are all here!"

Turning Up the Light

Snoop Dogg, 50 Cent and G-Unit: the glowering lineup of urban artists on Harold Payne’s most recent hit list of 100+ songwriter credits may be a touch deceiving. “I have a longtime relationship with Bobby Womack,” explains Payne, “and a fair amount of rappers have either done our songs or sampled them.”
